Privacy Policy

This notice describes the information used by cliq, a service for arranging in-person conversations, and by this legal-information site. Contact diana@tech-bakery.com with privacy or account questions.

cliq uses information to run accounts, profiles, meetup plans, requests, conversations and requested notifications. Your birthday and sign-in contact details are not displayed in your profile. Exact meeting details have restricted access.

Information provided by you

The app asks for access to your photo library when you choose a profile photo. Meeting-location information comes from places or pins you select.

Technical and delivery information

cliq and its service providers process information needed to operate and secure the service, such as request timing, network addresses, authentication events, errors and delivery results. If you enable push notifications, we process a device push token and installation information so notifications can reach that device.

How information is used

What other people can see

Profile information and plan summaries can be shown to other eligible cliq users. Public plan views use an approximate meeting area. Exact meeting details are available to the plan owner and participants whose access has been approved and remains authorized. Conversation participants receive messages sent to their conversation.

Your date of birth, sign-in email and phone number are not part of the public profile. Other people can keep information they receive, including screenshots, copied messages or downloaded photos. Please consider what you share in your profile, plans, introductions and conversations.

Service providers and other disclosures

Amazon Web Services provides authentication, databases, file storage and hosting. Our current application data resources are in the United States. SMS delivery also involves telecom providers. Google services support Google sign-in and maps/place features where those features are enabled. Expo and device-platform providers support app distribution and push delivery. University lookup sends your search text to the Research Organization Registry service. Providers may process information in other locations where they operate.

These providers process information needed for their functions, including relevant technical information, under their service arrangements and privacy practices. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to respond to a valid legal requirement, protect people or the service, or carry out a request you authorize.

SMS verification and mobile information

When you enter your number and request a code, cliq uses it to send verification messages during registration or sign-in and when you request another code. Phone numbers, consent information and delivery or verification results are used for authentication, security, support and opt-out handling.

Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in or consent information are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. AWS and telecom providers process the information needed to deliver requested messages.

See the SMS Terms for message frequency, carrier charges, HELP and STOP. Opting out of verification texts prevents phone sign-in until delivery is enabled again.

Retention, deletion and choices

Account and service information is held while needed to operate your account and the features you use. Retention also depends on security and troubleshooting needs, backups and applicable obligations. Copies can remain for a period in backups, service logs or delivery systems after active information is removed.

You can edit supported profile fields in the app, manage notification permissions in your device settings, and request account deletion from Profile → Delete account. You can also email diana@tech-bakery.com to request access, correction or deletion, or get help if an in-app request fails. We may ask for information needed to verify the request and avoid changing someone else’s account. Authentication and photo cleanup can take additional time after a deletion request.

Deleting an account cannot recall copies already received or kept by other people. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law.

Security

cliq uses access controls and encrypted connections and storage for its hosted service. No service can guarantee complete protection against every loss or misuse. Keep your sign-in credentials and codes private, and contact support if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.

Tracking and these pages

These legal pages do not load advertising or analytics scripts or place advertising cookies. Their content does not change in response to browser Do Not Track signals. Integrated app services may process technical information under their own privacy practices. We will update this notice before introducing materially different uses of information.

Age and changes

cliq is intended for adults aged 21 and over. If you believe someone below that age has supplied information, contact us. Changes to this notice will be posted here with a revised date; material changes may also be communicated in the app or through an appropriate account channel.
